This is a healthy approach to the problems of the renovation of the shophouse. Intervention of the traditional air-well as a re-interpretation is very well handled with the ability to penetrate spaces. The success of the scheme is in not taking the traditional approach to conservation in terms of creating spaces and use of materials.
